Location

Cassia Cottage Inn on Vietnam's Phu Quoc Island in the Gulf of Thailand is a small bungalow resort and beach-inn on Long Beach. It is situated on the white sand Ba Keo beach, Cassia Cottage is near the town of Duong Dong, just 2km from the airport.

Highlights

The New Zealander Jim Lysaght manages the resort with passion and contributes many of his reasonable ideas in order to make the place more interesting and environmentally friendly. It is not an eco-resort, but many approaches in order to keep the ecology healthy are being put into practice. In opposition to large resorts there is no mosquito spray being used. Instead, nets are provided in every room and mosquito coils for the outdoor areas. Further, Jim has put an Aloe Vera plant on every terrace. Guests may cut one of the leaves and make use of the plants’ milk in order to cure sunburn. So the use of chemicals and conventional medicine can be avoided. Cassia Cottages is a former private residence which has been made a small retreat for guests since a couple of years.
